How to define fully vaccinated?

Question 3

Are all travel delay and cancellation protected if I fulfilled the COVID-19 extension terms and conditions?

Accepted Answer

The related loss is not covered for trip cancellation or strand if the insured person is rejected to enter into the destination (including but not limit to no entry permit) due to epidemic prevention measures, flights suspension/delay by airlines/government, or departure restrictions.  The insured person is covered if he/she is infected after successfully applied the working holiday  insurance.

Yes, provided that the 2 doses of vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization and the insured person has fulfilled the entry requirement for the destination (country). Working holiday insurance covers medical expenses for if you get injured or become sick during your trip. Moreover, working holiday insurance also covers the follow-up medical expenses within 3 months after returning to Hong Kong.

Travel Insurance instead of Working Holiday Insurance?

Generally speaking, the maximum coverage period is 182 days for Single Travel Insurance while Annual Travel Insurance would cover individual trips of up to 60 days per trip. Working Holiday Insurance covers work injuries for up to a period of 12 months to 2 years, therefore it should not be replaced by normal travel insurance.

How long is the protection period?

The coverage period includes 12 months application up to 1.5 or 2 years limitation for number of trips.

Is it necessary to re-apply if I return to Hong Kong and then depart for the same country again?

The insured person does not need to re-apply for insurance in the coverage period for multi entrances to the originally appointed country.

Question 15

What kind of insurance document do I need to carry during the trip?

The related insurance document can be obtained through email, by post and by hand for your safekeeping during the trip. A copy of these document is suggested to be kept by your family or friends.

Can I appoint a third party to handle my claim, if any?

The insured person may submit a written authorization to assign a third party to handle the claim. Successful claim payment is addressed to the insured person and the third party may help collect the cheque.

How to claim for medical expenses incurred in overseas country?

The insured person may submit the claim by email together with the completed claim form and related receipts within 30 days. Original copies should be sent to us at the earliest convenience. Handling time for the whole claim process will be approximately 2 weeks (upon all valid documents are received.).
